Strangers on a train: Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp star in the thriller The Tourist


Any man would fall for Angelina Jolie, even it seems, devoted family man Johnny Depp!
But the actor's partner and mother of his two children, Vanessa Paradis need not worry as it's all in the name of art.

The hot duo make a steamy partnership as they star together in upcoming movie The Tourist, due out this winter.

Johnny plays Frank, an American tourist who takes a trip to Italy in a bid to get over a broken heart.

He quickly falls for gorgeous Elise, played by Angelina, when they meet, apparently randomly, on a train.

But what poor Frank doesn't realise is he's been set up and his dalliance with the lovely Elise might cost him his life.

In the new trailer for the action-drama Elise deliberately crosses paths with the clueless Frank.

He soon finds out that he's now entangled in a case of mistaken identity and has to go on the run.

Elise tells him: 'You were part of the plan. I'm sorry I got you involved in all of this.'

It turns out Elise had targeted Frank in order to mislead people following her former lover, Alexander Pearce, a wanted criminal that's being pursued by a gangster and a special agent played by Paul Bettany.

But all is not lost it seems. According to director Florian Henckel Von Donnersmarck, the pair do end up falling in love for real, despite Elise's conniving plans.

He says:'It's a love story, that's for sure. Imagine a woman who is just so elegant and sophisticated and educated and has lived in that world and now, through a whole set of circumstances, suddenly falls in love with a guy who is not any of those things, and it just somehow confuses her whole world because that was not meant to happen.

'She had it all worked out, she had this grand master plan, and neither he nor she had thought it possible that they would fall in love with each other. I have to keep the real details a secret otherwise you won't have any fun seeing it.'

The Tourist also stars Timothy Dalton, Paula Bettany and Rufus Sewell.

Filmed in Paris and in Venice, it arrives in U.S. theatres Dec. 10.

Since finishing filming, 35 year-old Angelina has been busy directing her first film, an as of yet untitled love story set against the backdrop of the Bosnian war.

Brad Pitt arrived in Budapest last Friday with twins Knox and Vivienne to join Angelina, who has been staying in the Hungarian capital with the rest of the children - Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh.
